Seven Star Policies
Gender Policy
Seven Star empowers gender-marginalized individuals through martial arts and self-defense training. We serve the greater Seattle community by providing self-defense training to people of all genders. We welcome trans, nonbinary, gender-expansive and cisgender women (age 13+) to train with us at our school. View our full gender policy as of October 2024. Gender Policy
Masking Policy
Masking Policy:
All classes and school events at Seven Star are masks optional with the following exceptions:
When a class size equals 18 or more.
During belt tests for participants/guests (testers excluded).
When all windows are closed due to extreme weather conditions (i.e. AC is on, poor air quality, or cold weather temperatures).
During partner exercises if your partner asks you to mask up. Make health/safety agreements with your partner around masking during partner work.
Masks are not required at parties, meetings, or events unless otherwise specified.
Personal Health Courtesies:
Bring a surgical mask or KN95/N95 to class in case class size, partner agreements, or environmental conditions require masking.
Do not attend classes/events if you have cold/flu/Covid symptoms. When in doubt, stay home.
If you’ve had a known Covid exposure, mask up in class or stay home.
If you are recovering from Covid, return to class once you are testing negative and do not have symptoms.
Consider masking in classes 3-5 days after air travel.
Ventilation Practices:
Windows open/fans on for all classes. During times of extreme heat, cold, or poor air quality, windows can be closed. If the windows are closed, masks are required, regardless of class size.
Air purifiers are on in our buildings 24 hours a day/7 days a week. Ensure the air purifiers are on and moved away from all walls when you enter or exit the building(s).
